As part of the Erasmus+ NEST4WB project, the University of Mostar – Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Computing and Electrical Engineering successfully organized Green Week 2026 from 20 to 24 April 2026, promoting digitalization, renewable energy technologies, and sustainable development through a series of educational and practical activities.
The first event introduced electrical engineering students to the Laboratory for Renewable Energy Sources, established within the NEST4WB project. Through a live demonstration of the Heliocentris Hybrid Renewable Energy Trainer (HRET), participants explored the operation of integrated solar, wind, hydrogen, and fuel cell technologies while gaining valuable hands-on experience with modern hybrid energy systems.
On Earth Day (22 April), the Faculty hosted an educational workshop that brought together students, academic staff, and representatives of public and private companies. Participants learned about the capabilities of the newly established laboratory, explored the role of digital technologies in the energy sector, and attended a practical presentation of the NEST4WB e-learning platform, strengthening collaboration between higher education and industry.
Throughout the entire Green Week, the laboratory remained open to students, professionals, and members of the wider community, offering visitors the opportunity to discover advanced renewable energy technologies and one of the project’s most significant infrastructure achievements.
With a total of 56 participants, Green Week 2026 successfully demonstrated how modern laboratories, digital competencies, and close cooperation between universities and industry contribute to educating the next generation of engineers and supporting the green transition in the Western Balkans.
