Within the Erasmus+ project NEST4WB, the Green Week 2026 event was successfully organized at the Academy of Applied Studies Kosovo and Metohija – Department Zvečan, from April 20 to 24, 2026.
The event was implemented in line with the EU Green Week initiative, with the aim of promoting digitalization, green energy transition, and the importance of lifelong learning in the energy sector. Throughout the five-day program, students, academic staff, industry representatives, media, and the wider public participated in various educational and promotional activities.
The program included presentations on the application of ICT and digital technologies in the energy sector, promotion of the NEST4WB project and newly established laboratory capacities, workshops, student activities, and meetings with business sector representatives. Special attention was dedicated to practical demonstrations of laboratory equipment acquired through the project, emphasizing the role of smart systems, IoT, and digital solutions in modern energy systems.
The event also received significant media attention, including a prime-time report broadcast by TV Most, contributing to wider dissemination and visibility of project activities and results.
During the event, the key messages emphasized the importance of integrating digital technologies and sustainability into higher education and energy sector development, as well as the role of projects such as NEST4WB in strengthening digital competencies and modernizing study programs in the Western Balkans.
Green Week 2026 successfully contributed to raising awareness about green and digital transition, strengthening cooperation between academia and industry, and increasing the visibility of the NEST4WB project and capacities of AASKM.
