At the University of Mitrovica – Faculty of Technical Sciences in Kosovska Mitrovica on February 12, 2026. A round table with teaching staff was held. The meeting was attended by UPKM academic staff (Faculty of Technical Sciences, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Philosophy and Faculty of Teacher Education). The goal of the event was to better understand how curricula and programs are currently designed, reviewed and implemented, as well as to what extent students are prepared for the needs of the labor market. Some of the topics discussed were: student skills and learning outcomes, alignment of curricula and learning outcomes, professional practice and pedagogical approaches, career development and institutional support, future development directions.
During the event Dr. Aleksandra Petrović presented the goals of the NEST4WB project as well as the activities implemented so far. It was noted that the goals of the NEST4WB project are aimed at students, teachers, experts from the economy, decision-makers at the local, regional and national level, as well as young people who plan professional development in the field of energy, as well as the improvement of competences and the creation of personnel ready to respond to the demands of the modern energy market, which is experiencing growth in all participating countries. Through improved and new knowledge, students acquire the ability to apply blockchain technology, IoT solutions, artificial intelligence, VR tools and drones in the planning, management and optimization of energy processes. Special emphasis was placed on the development of new management models and the increase in energy efficiency of industrial plants, as well as on the integration of renewable energy sources into everyday practice.
